Kantar has carried out polling for the DfT, among residents of new Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. This is Phase 2 polling, and it follows Phase 1 polling in November 2020.
There is majority support for active travel measures including LTNs. Respondents agreed that the government should act in local neighbourhoods to increase road safety and air quality, and to reduce traffic congestion and traffic noise (see the graphic at the top of this post).
There is support for a reduction in road traffic.
Respondents to the surveys supported reallocation of road space to walking and cycling.
The poll shows that people like living in LTNs.
A fairly slim majority of respondents feel that their LTN has been successful in its objectives.
