Yorkshire Showground resurfacing
Yorkshire Showground resurfacing

Two paths at the Yorkshire Showground have been resurfaced. There are now stretches of smooth tarmac:

  • at the top of the Showground near the Squash Club, and
  • at the bottom of the Showground near the exit onto Crimple Lane and the Travellers Rest pub (an improvement for anyone heading on towards Rudding Lane, Follifoot and Spofforth)

This has been possible due to the hard work, commitment and coordination skills of HDCA member Gia. Thanks are due to Yorkshire Agricultural Society Chief Executive Nigel Pulling who has been very helpful, and instrumental in getting the resurfacing done.

Funding came from Harrogate Borough Council’s Small Transport Initiatives fund, a North Yorkshire County Councillor Locality Budget, and the Rotary Club of Harrogate.

The contractors, Duffields, were excellent – they made the absolute most of the budget.
